Our Birthdays

This is a super backdated post since it's been a long time I last blog.. Sorry everyone..
So, since hubby's birthday and mine is only 5 days apart, I shall just blog about it here... in one post.. hehehe..so watch out.. it's gonna be a long post full of pics.. :P

11th Oct 08 - His b'day
We went to the Mint Museum Restaurant... It's actually a toy museum.. very cool....so.. here goes all the pics taken.. sorry ya, it was taken with my N73, didn't bring my camera.. :P

At the entrance of the cafe

Going down to the cafe.. (basement)

I just love the mural on the wall!

The long table for about 13 of us?

The menus.. it's so cool coz they have different ones!

Cutleries & salt & pepper shakers.. cute huh?

Courtesy of Jule's camera....while waiting for the food..

Trying to get a good reflection pic..

While waiting for the food.. I look slim on the left pic huh? Kekeke...

Behind this is the kitchen.. check out the comic books and toys!

Yummy-licious food, not to mention the size too!

Ken's dessert on the left, and b'day boy's free ice-cream...

Next, we left to go chill at Tzang's office.. Had a surprise cake for Jason... I tumpang.. hahaha..I just love his office at Raffles Tower....Something like Google... It has just a whole floor for the employees to chill.. they have this:

3 tables of "fusballs" - addictive man!

sofa lounge, 3 lcd tvs, lots of seats to chill

they even have card games.. here seen playing "Taboo"

All of us at the "Taboo" table.. hehehe

What is not shown here is the pantry, they have a free flow of vending machines.. it's free!!! Yes it's Free!!!! and plus, Jason & Duns were hooked on the Nintendo Wii!.. Yess, they have that too! I wonder how the employees concentrate.. hahaha... It was a good night.. Thanks to my cell leader for organising.. :) *muaks!*

16th Oct 08 - My b'day
After work, met up with Jason at City Hall... wanted to go have a look at Coach bags.. :P (before that did some online research to compare prices)...He was late, as usual..(was tired, and not in a good mood that day actually) but he did surprise me with a bunch of flowers! How sweet.. :P
But we also side-track and I went in to Burberry's, and fell in love with a sling bag.. Didn't buy it straight away as it's so much more expensive here.. Well, asking a friend to get for me when she's in Japan.. :P Ah well.. that all depends.. hehehe...
We ended up at PS Cafe in Paragon.... tried their recommendation of the turkey sandwich, which was really good! After that, we went to chill at SMU's cafe, first time there, and students get 30% discount.. quite worth it.. they have all kinds of beers from all over the world.... nice!

3 gerberas..

Some turkey sandwich which we both shared because it was huge & filling!

Having the famous carrot cake.. it was totally a healthy dinner that night!

Had a drink (we shared a bottle) at SMU's beer cafe.. Students gets 30% discount..
Not bad huh?

Wonderful birthday

New Mummy...

Congratulations to Fay!!!

Her babe, James Yip was born on 9th Oct 2008 (Yay! An Oct baby!!!) at 3.0kg, @ 11.02am.

OK, I did call her after she text me. It was like.. so fast?! The last I saw her was perhaps like a few weeks ago? Can't wait to see her as she's having a confinement in Malacca.. Nothing beats home sweet home ya... So, hoping I'm able to go see her when I'm back next week!

Well, will leave the details out, but I know she had quite a short labour.. 2 hrs.. But nevertheless, she was "scaring" me with all the details.. Oh well.. scared or not, I have to prepare myself anyway.. hahhaha..

So, congrats to mummy Fay & daddy Stephen.... :)

Welcome to the World!

A warm applause to Ethan Teoh Yong Shen, on his arrival on 13th May 2008 (easy to remember his birthdate eh?), 11.05pm. Congratulations to Len & Liza, on their upgrade of title to "daddy" and "mummy"... Kekeke...

Three makes a happy family :)

Ayam Penyet & New Asia Bar

______________________________________________________________
Small Talk: I have been blogging quite regularly if you noticed, at least once per day. Haha. It's coz I'm rather free now, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog this often once I start on the new job. So, might as well blog as much as I can now. :P Besides, with the amount of eating outs the past few weeks, and at new places, all the more the reason for me to blog! So, do bear with me, ya! Happy reading.

Left company at about 4.45pm yesterday. (Of course with manager's approval :P). Went to catch a movie at 6pm with LY at Cineleisure @ Orchard Road. To watch Forbidden Kingdom. Oklah. Show was so-so, comical though (With Jacky Chan in it, it should right?).

Show ended close to 8pm. Went to meet up with LYi, who brought another friend, for dinner. She brought us to this Indonesian restaurant, Ayam Penyet Ria at Lucky Plaza (rather sleazy place, though. Hehehe). It's quite a famous restaurant, and not to mention, close to authentic too! Me, being a vegetable-eater, seldom take beef. But I saw the "rawon" on the menu, and straight away ordered it. The beef is so tender, it's like medium-rare, and the soup is tasty. More like salty, that's why need to eat with rice. And all that for $5!

Hubs' Ayam Penyet. Chili was just too spicy. Burnt my lips!

Very nice gado-gado. The peanut sauce is just soooo.. goooooood. :P

Yummy rawon!

Superb avocado! (They put the maple syrup. Bali's avocado juice is 100% avocado. buttery taste. Hehehe)

Total damage: $44.60 for 5 pax. Not bad right? errr.. no?

After that, we adjourned to New Asia Bar to meet up with EN and gf, as it's his birthday. It's situated on the 70th storey of Swissotel. Regret: I didn't bring my Nikon camera! Bah. I had to settle with my N73 pics. Sigh. Such a blow. However, EN's N95 (5MP) gave a magnificent and clear pic. I'll be back again. This time, with a tripod? uh-oh.. no? Hahaha. Lots of ang-mos at this place. And don't mention about the bill. One person's bill alone can cover the whole amount of dinner we had earlier at Ayam Penyet. :P Oh well, perhaps, it's for the view. Ahhh.. nice sight!

Hubs' Sheraton Towers - U can keep the glass, just pay extra $8. Too bad, they were out-of-stock yesterday.

LY's blue donno-what. The glass is slanted, pretty cool, but also no stock. Alamak.

Oh well.. we managed to get the window seat, though EN was a little bit afraid of the height. The lift shoots straight up, very fast, then my ears kept getting blocked, and I had to "pop" it out. Hehehe. Going down was like going down the solero-shot thingy in Genting, if it were to go any faster. Hehehe. Need to start trimming up already. S-I-G-H.

Happy Birthday

To my dear, baby, brother. :). 24 years has passed... and u're getting.. O-L-D. Muahaha.

Blessed Birthday,
May the good Lord continue to bless you,
As you serve Him faithfully,
And being close to Him.
May you be a great man for Him.
Jie-jie loves you. :P

Dashingly handsome eh? Hahaha.. Sorry gals, he's taken. :P

p/s: Am finding for his baby pics. Hahaha.

Jaena's Surprise Birthday!

1st Feb 2008

After lots of emails flying around, we finally managed to set up a surprise b'day for our dear, Jaena. Of course, through the help of her bf. :) Thanks ZY!

We were at her house by about 9.45pm, and in her room, waiting. ZY was to fetch her from her company's dinner by 9.30pm in Orchard, and after sending her colleagues home, they finally arrived at about 10pm plus. Yep, we waited patiently for them, entertaining ourselves in the dark room. Hehehe.

Upon coming into her house, her sister led her to the room with some conversations about a huge umbrella that she just bought. Hiding behind it was of course, Len and Jason, who was the cameraman. Our plan nearly backfired when just as we thought she would hold the umbrella, she suddenly just turned around and switched off the room lights. At the point, Len popped his head out and wanted to scare her, but when he did, at that point, she just turned around, and her back was facing him. It was hilarious. We couldn't have laughed harder. In the end ZY nudged her towards the umbrella and told her that there's ghosts behind it. At that time, the guys just sprang up in action. Hahaha. Jason managed to catch a blur pic of her at the moment the guys sprung up.

The people involved. :) thanks all!

Darling's birthday & Anniversary

Today is my darling's birthday. Blessed birthday, and may God bless you loads, dear. *big hug & kiss*

We had a pre-celebration dinner last night (10-10-07) with seven of our cell group members. Actually the dinner is for both of us since my birthday is five days later. Hehehe. We had it in Fish & Co. at Parkway Parade. Kenneth arranged it all, and it was supposed to be a surprise one, but Jason could smell something was fishy from afar. Hehehe.

As the years go by, and as we get older, personally, for me, I don't really look forward to having celebrations, or parties or anything else. I mean, like the ones we used to have when we're young, and perhaps, our parents invited like one whole kampung (village). Hehehe. People change as they grow, priorities changes too. Hehehe.. And yeah, it was somehow different yesterday, because it was celebrated with people whom you actually share your life with. :) Thanks again to all who were present. :) (I know most of you were very busy with schedules).

The waiters/waitresses at Fish & Co. were cool. It was something like TGIF, where they actually sing for you. But they did it the fast way. And, both of us were given a small fireworks each. Haha. And they had 3 birthdays that night. I guess their throats were sore after that because they really sang so loud. And yes, I love the cake that Kenneth bought from Swensen's. It was a nice ice-cream 3-layered cake. Yummy! And yeah, the candles were great too. Out of so many years, first time we ever had the cake almost fully filled with candles. Thanks, Kenneth, you're the MAN!

And yes, my darling got himself a second wife...... TAA DAA.... A Fina 1215 full acoustic guitar. Okokok.. Since when did he play the guitar? Since uni... I think.. and he has not been playing for 2-3 yrs. He wanted to get a guitar when he came down to Spore. And to confirm this thought, last Sat, he was asked to play for cell. And we were thinking, hmm.. might as well get a guitar. And so, he began searching online for any good deals or shops to get the guitar from. Consulted my brother and all that. Finally, on a forum he found, Davis Guitar Music Centre. So, on Monday (yes, a day before cell) we went to Peninsula Hotel and we found more than 4 guitar shops there. Wow. The retail price was $350. And he bought another set of strings, picks, guitar case (fully padded - $40), and after negotiation (the owner gives about 5% discount to those who quote from that forum or if you're a City Harvest Church member), the amount came to $358. Cool right? God bless the owner. He played "Eidelweiss", and "What a Friend we have in Jesus", and it sounded great. That's why he chose the full acoustic one. I like the color, and the feel. It's not polished/lacquered, but people say it's a must, else it'll be prone to scratches and knocks. Oh boy. If it's polished, then it'll lose it's matte-ness. That was what I liked. Hehehe...

R.O.M. First Anniversary

And yeah, today marks our unofficial R.O.M. (Registry of Marriage) 1st year anniversary!!! Ta Daaaa... One year have passed.. yups... so fast huh? How was it?, as most of you have/will ask us. I'd say, it has it's ups and downs.. but what's most important is how we adapt to each other, in our behaviours, characters and habits. Muahaha. I would say, for me it's more of a character building thingy. And also, without God being the centre and foundation of this marriage, we are nothing. :) In the world we live in today, where divorce/broken marriages are so rampant, I think, we really need to put our trust in Him. Remembering what Ps. Sam said to us during our pre-marital counselling, "A three-cord bind is not easily broken". And so, the three-cord represents God, Husband and Wife. Anyway, our actual wedding anniversary is exactly one month from today. :)

Hapi "Bird"day

Today is a good friend's birthday... YuetPei...I knew her since pre-uni days.. A chun chick, a nice girl (a bit "cho-lor" at times - we're in the same gang :P).. and sweet.... Her bf is such a fortunate guy to have her. Hehehe... Anyway, here's three toasts to you, girl! *ting, ting, ting*. God bless you on this special day and many special days & years to come.
