Ayam Penyet & New Asia Bar

______________________________________________________________
Small Talk: I have been blogging quite regularly if you noticed, at least once per day. Haha. It's coz I'm rather free now, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog this often once I start on the new job. So, might as well blog as much as I can now. :P Besides, with the amount of eating outs the past few weeks, and at new places, all the more the reason for me to blog! So, do bear with me, ya! Happy reading.

Left company at about 4.45pm yesterday. (Of course with manager's approval :P). Went to catch a movie at 6pm with LY at Cineleisure @ Orchard Road. To watch Forbidden Kingdom. Oklah. Show was so-so, comical though (With Jacky Chan in it, it should right?).

Show ended close to 8pm. Went to meet up with LYi, who brought another friend, for dinner. She brought us to this Indonesian restaurant, Ayam Penyet Ria at Lucky Plaza (rather sleazy place, though. Hehehe). It's quite a famous restaurant, and not to mention, close to authentic too! Me, being a vegetable-eater, seldom take beef. But I saw the "rawon" on the menu, and straight away ordered it. The beef is so tender, it's like medium-rare, and the soup is tasty. More like salty, that's why need to eat with rice. And all that for $5!

Hubs' Ayam Penyet. Chili was just too spicy. Burnt my lips!

Very nice gado-gado. The peanut sauce is just soooo.. goooooood. :P

Yummy rawon!

Superb avocado! (They put the maple syrup. Bali's avocado juice is 100% avocado. buttery taste. Hehehe)

Total damage: $44.60 for 5 pax. Not bad right? errr.. no?

After that, we adjourned to New Asia Bar to meet up with EN and gf, as it's his birthday. It's situated on the 70th storey of Swissotel. Regret: I didn't bring my Nikon camera! Bah. I had to settle with my N73 pics. Sigh. Such a blow. However, EN's N95 (5MP) gave a magnificent and clear pic. I'll be back again. This time, with a tripod? uh-oh.. no? Hahaha. Lots of ang-mos at this place. And don't mention about the bill. One person's bill alone can cover the whole amount of dinner we had earlier at Ayam Penyet. :P Oh well, perhaps, it's for the view. Ahhh.. nice sight!

Hubs' Sheraton Towers - U can keep the glass, just pay extra $8. Too bad, they were out-of-stock yesterday.

LY's blue donno-what. The glass is slanted, pretty cool, but also no stock. Alamak.

Oh well.. we managed to get the window seat, though EN was a little bit afraid of the height. The lift shoots straight up, very fast, then my ears kept getting blocked, and I had to "pop" it out. Hehehe. Going down was like going down the solero-shot thingy in Genting, if it were to go any faster. Hehehe. Need to start trimming up already. S-I-G-H.

2 kay-pohs:

  1. Waahhh...you peepz went Asia Bar ah? Posh pub :p and yes I do know how much a few drinks are gonna cost in there hehe.

I've been to the Ayam Penyet restaurant before as well. Lunch hours are usually packed with yuppies. Lucky Plaza is sleazy meh? :p

  2. yups. went to the bar, just for experience. yeah. don mention abt the drinks man. we should go there some day to chill. and i must bring my camera this time. Hehee.. lucky plaza not sleazy? oklah.. compare it with those in geylang.. think it's much worse. cheerios!
