Our Bali Adventures 2009

It's our second time back in Bali.. this time it's not just the two of us.. but seven to nine of us! All thanks to Andry, we managed to get good and cheap accommodation... not to mention.. BIG one too.. :) The main highlights of this trip was, the activities.... Jason & I said that the next time round if we ever go back to Bali, is that we want to experience the white water river rafting... and Andry suggested para-sailing last minute as well. So, I'm pretty satisfied we did these 2 while were in Bali. The rest, was bonus. :)

the living hall... the sofa can be turned into a bed at night...where at least 2 guys slept...

the kitchen... can cook here, gas stove, frying pan, cups, plates, utensils all provided...

the master-room where 3 guys slept...

the 2nd room where Yibs & I slept...

Para-Sailing @ Tg. Benoa Beach

I volunteered to be the 1st among us to go. Check out the red & blue gloves. It's to tell you which one you need to pull the ropes to make you "stop" and slowly "drop" down.

Strapping me up, ready to go...OK, I kinda admit I was abit nervous at this point of time.. hahaha..

About to land.. can you see I'm trying so hard to pull the rope to make it land at the correct spot? At this point of time, I didn't want to stop.. I wanted to go another round.. the view from up there was just to spectacular that I had no time to "swallow" everything in just yet.... But, all good things must come to an end.. *sob sob*

Visit to Tanah Lot

Yibs & I entertaining ourselves at the small bazaar before reaching the Tanah Lot entrance.. Pretty hats, ya?

A group pic at Tanah Lot

White Water River Rafting (Payung Adv)

Yibs & I at the river, getting ready for action! We got a special price for this rafting, not as advertised at their website.. Thanks to Andry.. :)

We had chocolate bath after the massage.. My skin was extremely soft and smooth...we had green tea scrubs.. :)

At the famous Kuta beach... once again, after 1.5 yrs..:)

Re-visiting after 1.5 yrs.. just that we're not staying here.. :P

FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!

1st meal upon arrival, Ayam Betutu

The chili was stinging! But it was superb!

NASI PECEL

This is mine.. hmm... super-cheap right? It's just about S$1.30! So much of food! I don't mind eating this for economy rice everyday... tastes good!

Suckling pig, or famously known as "Babi Guling"

You get to eat every part of the pig. The ears, the TONGUE (see the rolled one?) the skin, the meat, so on.. Gross, but the fried skin actually tastes good. Hahaha. Like "keropok".

"Bebek" is duck in Indon language. Don't ask me why it's called dirty duck.. More famously known as "Bebek Bengil".

The Bebek Bengil dish.. can be served with fries or rice.. :)

The food spread at Bebek Bengil; Bebek Bengil x3, Nasi goreng (thumbs up for this!) x2, Nasi campur (nice!) x2, Gado-gado x1, assorted drinks (mixed fruit juices, ice blended).. yummy!

Last but not least, we bought lots of indo-mee for supper @ the hotel. Hehehe.

So, this ends the whole trip we had in Bali.. it was a goooooooooood and long-awaited trip...
Thank God for AirAsia too that they just recently opened their new route from Spore direct to Bali.... Awaiting for the next trip..... have to look at budget airlines promo.. I know some of them from the group will be going to climb Mt. KK in June, and some having a road-trip to Australia.. All thanks to budget airlines... Hehehe... Shall we start planning for next year? *wink*.

:: away ::

Leaving... on a jet plane.. don't know when I'll be back again.. (I wished!)

Make sure you guys join in the Earth Hour which is happening same time 8.30pm in Malaysia & Singapore... Hehehe.. I'll be in neither countries on 28th March though.. :P

Almost "botak" *updated*

Hubby shaved his head... almost botak but left about 1cm of hair around.. hahah... still getting used to his look...

Yesterday I was on the way back from gym, and he from his badminton session, so we decided to meet up for dinner at the food court in front of my place. He didn't tell me that he didn't shave bald clean. I reached, and I suddenly remembered in the sea of people, it should be easy to spot a bald head. And so I did.. I walked directly towards that direction the person was sitting, and wanted to give him a good surprise head-rub, and I suddenly detoured myself when I found that hmm.. this guy is not hubby!.. and Jason was sitting at the table behind the man.. Imagine if I had head-rub him.. oh my goodness.. I just can't imagine...And he wore almost the same colored pair of specs.. I think I'll just faint there and there...

And last night I had some difficulties sleeping because my nose was blocked and running... Hubby suddenly opened his eyes so big and looked at me to check if I was ok...I got a shock! Hahaha...Thank God I didn't choke holding back my scream/ shock. :P

Ah well, I think he looks better now.. :)

After work, met up with Jason at City Hall... wanted to go have a look at Coach bags.. :P (before that did some online research to compare prices)...He was late, as usual..(was tired, and not in a good mood that day actually) but he did surprise me with a bunch of flowers! How sweet.. :P
But we also side-track and I went in to Burberry's, and fell in love with a sling bag.. Didn't buy it straight away as it's so much more expensive here.. Well, asking a friend to get for me when she's in Japan.. :P Ah well.. that all depends.. hehehe...
We ended up at PS Cafe in Paragon.... tried their recommendation of the turkey sandwich, which was really good! After that, we went to chill at SMU's cafe, first time there, and students get 30% discount.. quite worth it.. they have all kinds of beers from all over the world.... nice!

3 gerberas..

Some turkey sandwich which we both shared because it was huge & filling!

Having the famous carrot cake.. it was totally a healthy dinner that night!

Had a drink (we shared a bottle) at SMU's beer cafe.. Students gets 30% discount..
Not bad huh?

Cycling Trip

Yes! I made it.. finally.. after 2 attempts to cycle from East Coast Park (ECP) to Changi Village and back (approx. 40 km), I finally made it on Sunday..Yesterday.. hehehe.. of course, the journey wouldn't have been great if not for the 2 macho guys who joined me.. Ken & Duns. Thanks guys! I really enjoyed myself though it was really a "tough" one especially the ride back. Hehehe...

Praise the Lord for the beauuuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful weather that He gave us that Sunday morning. We started at about 10.15am from ECP.. and reached Changi Village in about an hour's time. Rested awhile, took a drink, and headed back to ECP again. It began to drizzle, but I was praying quietly that He will hold the rain... The journey there was just great. I was busy admiring God's wonderful creations, the sceneries, the greens, and not to mention, the fresh cool wind & air. What intrigued me most was the starting of the whole stretch of road where you can have the full view of Changi airport's runway. We could see planes landing and taking off and it's just so nice watching the planes go by. I feel like a small kid once again. Hehehe.

Upon reaching ECP after the trip, we realised that it was "soaking" wet! The roads, and puddles of water everywhere... and indeed, I just couldn't help praising the Lord Almighty that He really held the rain clouds back for us! WooHoo!

Though am suffering a slight ache (swell of muscle) on my right side of neck and also my arm, it was all worth it. It is something I would do again! Perhaps, this time on a "slower" mode and better bike seats. Butt aching like crap. Haha. But thanks to PX for lending me her bike!

Praise the Lord! For His mercies and love endures forever....

the 3 muskeeters (L-R): Ken, me, Duns
Behind us is Changi airport runaway

The road leading to no-where. It's like a never-ending road!
Actually it leads to Changi beach... then Changi Village... 7km stretch of this!

Comex '08

Yups... it's back again... hehehe... itching to get a Nikon/Canon DSLR... they have got very good freebies... like a free lens and extra memory card and so on... and most are below SGD1k. Of course, the range of cams are for amateurs like me. :)

So many things happening in my work-life now that I'm so glad that the weekend is finally arriving. WooHoo! Till then... chaoz...

Being a Chinese...

:: Sunday ::

It was a bright, sun-shiny day on Sunday. We decided the night before to go to ECP as we've not been there for quite some time till after Jess & Yin were around. We went cycling instead. Jason, Ken, myself. Bec followed us, but she chose to do some self-reflecting moments by the beach all by herself. :P

We had a great time there, then went to Subway for brunch, and headed home as we had a lunch appointment at 2pm.

It was Steph's farewell as she's leaving for UK this Friday. So Jules, the organizer, managed to get some of the ex-MMUCFers here for a small gathering. The lunch place was PS Cafe which was at Hardings Road, near Holland V. And it's just a nice place (and so is the price!)! Very colonial and westernized. It really sets you in that setting that you don't feel you're in an Asian country. I don't mind having a nice romantic dinner with a nice bouquet of flowers to accompany me.. *ahem, hint, hint* :P
Since pics are not really allowed in the place except if it's with your friends, so here goes...
