有一天 (One Day)

有一天 詞曲:盛曉玫
(Music/Lyrics: Amy Sand)

有一天 你若覺得失去勇氣

If one day, you think you lost your courage

有一天 你若真的想放棄

If one day, you really want to give up

有一天 你若感覺沒人愛你

If one day, you feel that nobody loves you

有一天 好像走到谷底

One day, you are probably at the valley (of the hills)

那一天 你要振作你的心情

That one day, you must be encouraged

那一天 你要珍惜你自己

That one day, you must treasure yourself

那一天 不要忘記有人愛你

That one day, you must not forget that someone loves you

那一天 不要輕易說放棄

That one day, you must not easily give up

這個世界真有一位上帝

This world really has a God

祂愛你 祂願意幫助你

He loves you, He is willing to help you

茫茫人海 雖然寂寞

Although in a huge crowd can feel lonely

祂愛能溫暖一切冷漠

He loves being indifferently warm to all

這個世界真有一位上帝

This world really has a God

祂的雙手 渴望緊緊擁抱你

His hands hopes to embrace you tightly

漫漫長夜 陪你走過

The long night accompanies you through

祂愛你 伴你一生之久

He loves you, wants to accompany you for the rest of your life

Amy Sand was at my church on Saturday, and thanks to hubby for being my translator throughout the whole performance, and I realized that the lyrics of this song truly touched me a lot. I have been blessed by her songs, and I hope I did the translation the best I could. :) Enjoy....

Great Possibilities

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable... for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every work... 2 Tim 3: 16-17

Everyone who has received the Holy Spirit has within him great possibilities and unlimited power. If we will yield to His leading and not doubt, it will lead us to success and victory. We will grow in grace, and we will have not only a controlling power but a power that reveals the mind of God and the purposes He has for us... (read Heb 10:11-31).

Amen, Amen, Amen! The above were typed and smsed to me by my current boss... as he knows what I'm going through. How edifying for such a time like this. Blessed to have a boss who is a believer... :)

The Cost of Following Jesus

At cell today, our CL gave us each 5 pcs of paper. We were supposed to write down what do we want to see ourselves achieve in this lifetime. It was a little difficult for me to write down.. but here they are anyway, in no particular order:

1) To be a strong woman in the Lord
2) To be able to grow old "gracefully" with Jason and the kids (if any)
3) To be able to do my very best in whatever place that He has put me in. (e.g. career? family - wife, mother, daughter, etc..)
4) To be able to bring my parents for a European tour when they retire
5) To be surrounded by good friends all the time

We were then told to give up one and left with four... till slowly it reaches up till only one that you can hold in your hand. Guess which was the first to go and last remaining one?

The whole game was mainly to relate on the cost of following Jesus. What are the things we need to die ourselves to? (ref. Luke 9).

- desire for comfort and ease
- personal goals and ambitions
- expectations of others
- fear of the unknown
- others?

Truly, as God's chosen people, we indeed have a high calling!
"And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14b.

Today, more than ever, God is looking for workers to send into His harvest field. How will YOU respond?

A-Idol

I got this from Ben's blog. I've not seen it on TV here, but it's amazing. They're actually singing a Christian praise song during their group presentation. And they sang twice! Title of the song is "Shout to the Lord". While listening to it, I had goose bumps all over. Hahaha.

And I'm not sure if you have watched the one with Dolly Parton was on. She sang, "Jesus & Gravity". (Click on the song for full lyrics)

Extract of the chorus:
Cause I've got
Somethin' lifting me up
Somethin' holding me down
Somethin' to give me wings and
Somethin' to keep my feet on the ground
I've got all I need,
Jesus and gravity

Check it out. When asked something about Simon, she said, "I've got Jesus, you've got Simon". And she praised and said "Hallelujah" after she finished her song. Rather cool, right?

The whole team sang her songs that night, and they were really meaningful songs. Another song by one of the Idols, David Archuleta, sang "Smoky Mountain Memories". Another beautiful song with deep-meaning lyrics. (Click on the song for full lyrics).

Extract from the song:
...But I'll keep leanin' on sweet Jesus
I know He'll love and guide and lead us ...

...I'll keep lookin' to the Father
Keep our heads above the water ...
Amen!

Another one, Jason Castro on "Travellin Through".

It's rather amazing. I was really touched by this particular episode of A-Idol. I'm not sure though if this was shown in Msia. Do let me know. Hehehe.
All glory unto Him.

Cell Multiplication & Mooncake Festival

Yes, it was two-in-one. Err.. actually not lah. It just coincided with the mooncake festival. And yeah, to make things clear, as Christians, we do not celebrate mooncake festival like the others do with the praying and all that. We just.... play lanterns. And eat mooncakes. Yummy!

Last night marked the end of the one big group of Sunnydalers and the beginning of 2 brand new cells, Sunnydalers & 7 Mimosa cell members. The new group will be headed by Frank, taking with him 4 other guys and 2 ladies. The rest who stay back will be under our new cell leader, Jaena. *Applause, cheers*. There were a total of 23 of us yesterday. Imagine if we had cell group like this every week, the host will need to bring in more chairs. Hehehe. On average, our cell is about 10-15 ppl per week. I have a feeling, that the remaining Sunnydalers might have to multiply again.... real soon... Hehehe...

We prayed over for the new cell members, that they will be an impact to the surrounding neighbourhood and also bringing in more new believers. And we prayed over for the 2 leaders that God will anoint them with His wisdom as they both lead the cells. Amen!

After that, it was playing lantern time. hehehe. And also a time of fellowshipping with one another. And we had nice and yummy food that day, chicken wings, fillet, beehoon fried by Kenny (yes, a guy!) and he even had one vegetarian bee hoon, and guess what? It tasted so good. :)

After this, we left at 10.30pm to catch our bus while the rest waited for the other cell (previously multiplied from here too) to join them to have supper. Really tired, but it was great. Jason & I have always looked forward to going for cell. May God bless the 2 cells! Adios!

More pics on My Multiply. Some pics were blur coz was using night mode. :)

Bumble-bees

Woke up today feeling better. Skipped cell last night because was still tired from the night before that. *guilty*. Something to brighten up my day is this thing on my desk. Brought the two plants in, and I bought the 2 bumble-bees from Jonker Walk. When I'm bored or need a break, just press the wooden button at the bottom. It all works on strings. Different parts of wooden button you press, different parts of the bees will move. Interesting eh? They have other animals available too. The girraffes were also cool. Hehehe... By the way, the plant on the right died over the weekend. Sigh. Need to replace it soon...

Cute eh?

This brings me to some observations..
1. We are like the bumble-bees... and..
2. Who "presses/moves" us should be God.
3. But more often than not, we let other things "move" us, such as our eartly desires, our plans in our lives (not God's), our friends/ peer pressure, our work, and other priorities in life besides God.
4. These bees brings me to remind myself that my focus in life is God, and that other things will follow thereafter... "Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added unto you" - Matt. 6:33 -

... Doing some self reflections.... Good to this once in a while...

God bless your day!

The Signs of...

Hungry Ghost Festival is when...

1. The futsal court and the children's playground does not have a single soul on it even though it's only 6pm. Usually it's packed with kids. Ironically, even the other non-Chinese kids are not around too. I guess they would need the Chinese kids to play with.

2. You will see joss ticks sticking in the ground everywhere and anywhere. Near the drain, sometimes, you just have to be careful you don't get burnt.

3. You would see packets of biscuits like this and also other food. We were at the Interchange and they had even much more food, complete with hot desserts, sponge cup-cakes and bigger joss sticks.

4. Last but not least, you will see this kind of tongs everywhere you go and black ash papers flying all over the place. Not only flying below you, but also above you. And, your clothes will stink and smell of smoke. And if you've washed your hair, God bless you, you need to do it again. One morning, we stepped into the lift filled with these burnt, black paper money. And the floor was wet. Go imagine.
And not helping the situation, some even burn the paper openly on the floor, without anything to cover it. So, you can just imagine when the wind blows. Talking about that, am expecting my house porch back in Melaka to be covered with black burnt paper when I go back home. :( Oh no! and I'll be having guests that weekend. (Sorry, Eric & Nick, might have to help me clean up the place before you can enter :P)

5. Other distinct observations will be the food court which is usually 100% filled, will only likely be 50% filled. And this applies to other shopping areas as well.

So for this season, usually it's best for me to go shopping! Yeah!!!... but the sales are just over. :(

As for me personally, I do believe in spiritual realms... But I have J.E.S.U.S in me.. whom shall I fear?

God bless. :)

p/s: All pictures were taken on the way back from work just now. :)
