My buys for the day....

Yeah, it's not clothes, bags or shoes.. but these! It's time I took care of my skin.. as I'm growing older.. and not younger though I wished.. :) Counter promoter does not think I'm above 25 yrs old. :) Sweet. Have been checking out on the website and all that for the ingredients used and all that, and what's good for my face skin. So am trying these first.

NO, I didn't buy all of these...

Only these.. (Milk, toner, moisturizer)

And I got the 3+1 lipstick FREE..
And the other 2 smaller ones were given as samples!. Woohoo!

Instantly I became a member.... Hehe.. can collect points, then next time redeem for one more product. :)

Crazy Puma!

Was at Tampines Mall today for lunch. Guess what I saw?!! Puma on sales! 2 pairs of shoes for $60. And I saw some were football boots, and futsal shoes. So, actually thought of my bro, but donno what's his size. There were others too.. sportswear going down as low as $5 per piece to about $15 per piece. Sales end on 7th June. :)

Crocs Crazy!

Yeah, I can't believe that Crocs would actually have discounts! The pair I have been eyeing for a long time, (Prima), was only $15 per pair! I bought two pairs, different colors. Hehehe.. And another 2 small ones for my nieces (kids Crocs), at $10 each. Beat that man! I don't think Msia can ever have this prices even after the conversion...

Woohhooo.. a good way to start the Great Singapore Sales.. Anyone joining me? *wink wink*..

$2

I can't believe I bought a 100% cotton jacket for office-wear at $2 from Bodynits. It was a defective piece, but only at the button of the sleeve. They were having warehouse sales just behind my office... I shall never buy Bodynits wear on normal days and at their boutiques. Prices slash till so low! pics to follow later.. hahaha...

Growing Up Beautifully

Yes, I'm talking abt Philo! At 4 months plus now, she's really grown. Lanky legs, just like my bro.. Hahaha.. mum said she's getting smarter each day.. Kekeke...I hope she doesn't grow too fast the next time I go back Melaka towards the end of Sept. Hehehe...

**********

Brief updates of what has been happening over the week:

Mon: 2nd half day of work I went to the other Flextronics plant in Joo Koon Circle. My boss drove us there, and when he checked his speedometer it's like 40km one way from Changi to Joo Koon. Gosh!. It's actually almost reaching Tuas area. You can see the plant along the expressway.. Near Volvo and Sony. :) Had a short line tour and blabla, then he drove us back.. (another 40km!)

Tues: Was at customer's place in the morning half @ Serangoon. They then invited me for lunch. Hehehe. Came back, busy with work, then rushed for cell. Took 3 buses just to reach Shirley's place. *Phew*

Wed: Was in Batu Pahat whole day for a supplier's audit. (2nd visit already). It was pretty interesting. Came back, missed the co. bus, but we managed to make it on time to go for gym, just slightly later. Ran for 5km, walk for 1km... All in all, it was good. I felt so refreshed. :)

Thurs: Work was as usual... then I stayed back in office rather late.. about 10pm I left the office. Tiring. Had so many things to do.. sigh..

Fri: Yippeee.. Thank God It's Friday! Went back about 6plus.. Hehehe... Didn't do much as Jason had to study..

Sat: Woke up real late.. just in time for lunch. Went to Parkway Parade as I was craving forAjisen Ramen. (Have not been going out for real good food, that's why you see lack of food pics the past few weeks). Hahaha. Did a little shopping before heading for church. :) Yes, GE runners get a 20% discount off for Adidas ladies' apparel including caps and water bottle. Right now, I think I have one full set of all Adidas stuffs. Thinking of getting another pair of shorts. Hahaha.
After church, we went to catch a movie, Star Wars:The Clone with our free movie passes. Not really a good show, though I think I would have enjoyed Money No Enough more, but we didn't manage to get good seats. :)
Came back about 2plus (yeah, we went for mamak nearby together with FL, RL, MT, Jason & myself) when he sent us back home. And that was when I signed up for Stan Chart 10km-women run. Hahahaha.

So now, I need to train, really, really hard!!!

Till then, will update today's activity real soon.. Chaoz....

Specky & Sammy

Went for dinner yesterday, at this place called Specky. It has a history of 4 good friends, who wears specs and love food. So they finally opened this stall together, selling mainly western dishes.
We were recommended to this place by LY. It's behind Parkway Parade, opposite the NTUC, there's a small food court, hardly anyone goes there. But those who go, will order this western food. Prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are huge!

My Spag Aglio Olio (I asked for bacon), $4.50

Jason's Specky special, $6.50 - It's super yummy and kao, but after awhile, jelak... I should have shared this with him...it was really huge!

After that, LY called us to let us know that Samsonite was having 20% discount sales. So we went over to Isetan in Parkway Parade, and found out it was Isetan member sales! Even Crocs were on sale, but too bad, the one I wanted, Jason said it looked funny. :( In the end, I didn't get them. Kinda regretted it now. It can serve as a working shoe as well. And guess what we bought? 2 backpacks (laptop bags), at about $130 for both (after discount)! Since I've already got mine, Jason bought for himself, and the other one for his brother. :)

What a coincidence...

It was a coincidence that the six of us were wearing couple tshirts to church the previous Sunday...
Z&C - football tees
J&ZY - SO CUTE tees.. very cuteee...hahaha...
us - i love her, i love him from www.simplyblatant.com!

Post Valentine's Day

Many of my friends and colleagues had their v-day well planned. But not for me, or Jason. I wasn't in the mood, and I couldn't feel it. Hahaha. So when people asked, "What are your plans tonight?", I merely just replied, "No plans", or "See how later".

Mainly because I was a bit stressed with something else and my mind was too occupied that day. Besides, I was having a bad diarrhea that day, perhaps from the too good food we had the other day during my manager's farewell dinner cum CNY dept dinner. (Will blog on this next).

Anyhow, Jason said we'll make up for it on Saturday, go jalan-jalan and have a good meal. I went home from work late that night, so we just went to the interchange food court to have dinner with LY. Hahaha. The food court had very much less people around, as I guess, most are dining at nice restaurants at that time :).

So today, we went to City Hall. Woke up late, so had a quick lunch at the food court nearby (too hungry to go all the way to town to have good food, besides, we just had good food at church last night too.. CNY celebration. - will blog about it soon too). Jason said he wanted to go to Marina Square, and so we did. Took our time to do some window shopping.. hehehe.. not much sales left.. and after going up the escalator, we passed by World of Sports again. I was kind of thrilled to see that the Birkis were still having sales; 30% off. Jason asked me to go on in and have a look. And he asked me to choose and it's my valentine's day gift from him to me... I was sooooo happy. Hahaha... I chose, the red one, it's actually Papillio which is also a brand name for Birkis, and they usually have those nice designs. Most Birkis are plain-colored.

Anyway, it was initially $129, discounted to $89, and further discount of 10% if you're a World of Sports Member. So we signed up to be a member, $38 for 2 years, and we got a free Mizuno sports bag ($52.90), a sports water tumbler ($19.90), and 3 pairs of socks. And of course, there were other discounts and vouchers too. I was so happy that I wore it immediately. Kekeke. And so... I have both now.. a pair of ipanemas and a birki... Thanks, darl! I really feel bad for not being able to get him something for v-day as I can't afford a PS3 right now :P Oh well, waiting for the price to drop lower.. :)

YES! The valentine designs are finally out! Not only that, you can now ORDER ONLINE!!

We've spent much time trying to come up with designs that would be special, but still realistic at the same time. There was also constant debate about quantity vs quality. We had a few extra designs, but weren't completely satisfied with them, so we've decided to put out only our best two designs, which come together in a special HIS + HER VALENTINE package.

We'll also be including a specially designed blatant valentine card just for you for FREE! If our Christmas t-shirt designs are anything to go by, we're sure you know the card is gonna be different from the rest.

We know we promised the coffee lovers something to be happy about... don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you guys... we just wanted to launch the valentine promotion first. We'll be launching the coffee design very soon... c'mon, would we lie to you baby?....

Lastly, check out our blatant valentine poster (either from the navigation bar on the right or below)... Feel free to distribute the posters among your friends....

If you can't see the wordings, this is what it actually says:

His tshirt : i love her - that's why i let her go shopping
Her tshirt : i love him - that's why i let him watch football

Buy one set at RM59, and get one card free. :)

Over the weekend, I...

1) Got a hair-cut and dyed it. Hehehe. CNY new look. Nehh.. just wanted it short. My first short hair-cut since primary school days. Some people says it suits me, some said not (adding 5 years to my age).. Ah well.. I feel comfy now, no need to have all those extras sticking out of my head. Washing and drying is such an ease now. No pics right now. Forgot to take. Anyway, after getting my hair wax, I'll take a pic. :)

2) We finally went for our first anniversary dinner at Seri Nyonya, Hotel Equatorial, Melaka and food was good. The chicken pongteh was rather authentic, as in close to what my aunt and grandma usually cook. Yummy. And Jason loved the itik tim.. I love it too. And the ikan goreng cili garam. And the sambal belachan. :) All in all, it was a good dinner. Especially the part you just walk out of the restaurant without having to pay a single cent :). Ah well, all good things must come to an end. :P Thereafter, we went to Jonker to catch up with a few of our friends, before we called it a day.

A rare sight. The ones my grandma used to use :)

Itik tim - RM 18 (small)

Chicken pongteh - RM 21; Ikan goreng cili garam - RM 30; Chap-Chye (vege) - RM 16; Chincalok egg omelete - RM10; Sambal belachan & chincalok - RM3.50 each

Nyonya Chendol - RM 6

3) Bought my ipanema slippers! Went to Jonkers to get my fake Birkis, but were out of stock. We could only get it two weeks from now. So, I went to get my ipanemas in the mean time. Will get the Birkis when I'm back two weeks later. Got this at RSH for RM35.. I think. Can't remember.

Meanwhile, Jason managed to get all his stuffs done for the uni application. It was rather a fruitful weekend, but a busy one.

All done, and we are back in the pigeon hole now. :)
Looking forward to the end of the day as I'll be attending my first conversational Chinese class at a community centre nearby. (Delayed for a long time already). Hehehe. Also, having 2 of my cousins over on Saturday as they'll be here for the jobsdb.com fair at Suntec. Till then, have a blessed week ahead!

Ipanema or Birkenstock

I bought a pair of this in August'07 :

But then, just last week, it was on the verge of breaking. (not the straps, but the soles). My heart almost broke too. I liked the pair a-lot. That explains why I wear them practically everywhere I go. :) And being in Singapore, I walk a lot... the pair is very comfy. Sigh. I guessed I walked too much. I sent them to my dad for "repair" if it can be done. He said that might just have to put another layer of soles underneath it. It'll be ugly, but then, it'll be wasted cause the other parts are still good. One thing, the color doesn't fade. Cool, huh? I got this pair for about RM60. (It's selling about S$33.90 here).

Now, I'm torn apart. Should I get another ipanema (without back-strap - cheaper , about S$17.90 or RM39?) .. and test it again? Jason said if it breaks again, then we're not going to get any of these anymore. Something like the pic below:

Or, after talking to Jason's friend the other day, she said, why not get a Birkenstock? Hmmm.. I had a few imitation Birkenstock too (bought it from Jonker Walk, which costs an average about RM25 per pair), and they pretty last me rather long, more than half a year? Hahaha. But she told me hers lasted for about 2 years already, and she went back-packing to Spain & Italy with it. I was like.. Wow. Tough pair. She has something like this:

I checked hers out online, it's about S$113.08. *jaw dropped*. Haha.. Buying online is cheaper, or so, she said. If I can get friends who wants to share in buying, then it'll be better, because for purchases above S$199, free shipping costs. Else, will have to pay additional S$29.90. I kinda like these... But it's about S$84.30. Sheesh... But if it can last for 5 years, why not?

I guess I might just settle for the ipanema ones first... *wink*

My 2007 Christmas

****************************************************************
Found out that my mum reads my blog. Oh-no! But being an English-option teacher, she said it's good. It improves my vocab and bla bla bla... Hehehe.. Hmm... not sure if I should /censor/ my posts from now on or not. Hehehe... And am afraid to make any grammar mistakes.. Hahaha.. Just kidding...

*********

Christmas was different for me this year. It was spent away from home. Of course, I do miss those times we had back home.

On Saturday, 22nd Dec, we went for the Christmas event at church, The Father's Love. It was a great one, I loved the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s love songs melody they sang. And the singers were great.
Right after that, we had to rush from Adam's Road to Pasir Ris to make it to my big boss' house for BBQ dinner. It's a farewell for him actually since he'll be posted to Suzhou next year. Also, it coincided with Christmas, so I bought a bottle of French red wine as a gift for him, and a box of Swiss chocs for my immediate mgr's children. Jason loved the seafood spread that he had. The prawns were really fresh, and yes, cray-fish! I didn't take it as I really didn't like seafood, but Jason said it was good. Even the lamb and beef it was soft, tender, juicy. Haha.

The next day, Sunday, my family (parents & bro) came down. Waited for them for about 3 hours at the bus station as there was a massive queue at customs. Brought them to my granduncle's place where they will be putting up 2 nights there, and headed to Orchard Rd for dinner with their family. At Crystal Jade restaurant (again!) at Taka. Stomachs filled, we walked around before returning home. The crowd was just getting from bad to worse. People-jam. Haha.

At Taka with family

Monday, we went to Queensway to get my bro's shoes. Yeah, so I got him a pair of Nike as his Christmas prezzie. My parents bought him a FILA jacket and Levi's for prezzie too. He was beaming from his left ear to his right whole day! Next, we went back for lunch, grandaunt cooked buah keluak, a typical nyonya dish, originated from Indonesia. Yummy! And she made kueh pai-tee (top-hats). After that, my aunt dropped us at Orchard Rd as my mum wanted to do more shopping. Hehehe. By 5.30pm, we left Orchard as we didn't want to be in the crowd, for Marina Square. Did a bit of window shopping before Jason came to join us. John Little was having SALES. Had dinner at Waraku Jap Res, before bringing them to see the Fountain of Wealth. Had a cup of coffee before going home.

At fountain of wealth

On Christmas day, we went over to my granduncle's place, sat down awhile, and by 12pm, we left the place. Jason brought my parents to the bus station, while I had to go to Sunnydale to prepare for the Christmas lunch. Hehehe.. and that, I'll leave it to another post for it.. :)

Will post up some pics once we're back in Spore. Till then, chaoz...

Wet, wet, wet...

The weather has been so grey and wet the past few days. Nice time to sleep, but have to work. And today, being a holiday, supposed to go to ECP to roller-blade, but it rained! Hahaha.. anyway, good excuse for me to stay in bed... where after a while, I got up anyway because I couldn't go back to sleep. By the time we took our brunch, it was close to noon. Sigh. And it was still drizzling.

About 1.30, L&L came to pick us up, and off we go, heading for the G2k warehouse sales. Checked out the map, and we were there. I bought 2 sleeveless tops (one for $8, another for $13 - knitted), and two pairs of pants. ($16 each). Cheap or what? Most of the clothes there were G2k Blu. Jason bought 2 long-sleeved shirts ($13 each) and one jersey type collared-t shirt, $10. Muahaha. At the end, I bought 2 Ty's teddy bears for my nieces, $5 each and one bigger teddy for myself, $10. It's been a long time since I had a soft toy. And they're original Ty's ok? At the counter, Jason chucked another Remy' Martin's Swiss chocolate into the basket. It has V.S.O.P, champagne, cognac... for $6. *Phew*. It was still drizzling when we were done. sigh...

Next, we headed for Ikea.. (They joy of having a car is that, it takes merely a 15 mins drive to these places.. hahaha)...Just bought a roll of wrapping paper (5 pcs/5 colors) for $5.90. Jason bought a table lamp or $15.90. Yeah, he needs one 'cause his test is end of the month. Need more "light" to study. Kekeke.. then we had lunch/tea of meatballs and chicken wings. Yummy! Lots of people.

Went back after that, lazing around, ate Ben & Jerry's ice cream (Chunky Monkey) - thanks to K :) It's super nice. Banana ice cream with chunky fudge chocolates and walnuts. 1 pint. Still have about half of it. It's so filling.. So I guess.. that's for our dinner..

Wanted to go for a jog.. but looking at the weather... nehh.. so lazy.. sigh.. I guess it'll be the gym tomorrow after work already. Have to slim down to fit in my 2 pair of pants. Muahahha... No one believes me that I've put on weight except my mum :P... Life is good in Spore? Hmmm... I'll leave that for you, my dear readers, to conclude. :)

Lil' shopping & some updates...

Bought a Samsonite laptop bag yesterday at the end of the luggage bag sales at Parkway Parade. It was slashed from $110 to $66. Jason said it's a good buy. And yeah.. so he got it for me for as Christmas prezzie. :P Thanks, my dear...

I was actually more interested in the luggage bag, as it was slashed from $440++ to $199, and it was the biggest size. Quite worth it, but.. too bulky.. without anything, it was already 6kg. Hahaha.. Imagine plus your luggage, it'll be heavier. Anyway, we'll wait for the poly-carbonate one to slash more.. It's big, and light-weight. And not to mention, pricey, but durable. (LY, yours the best-lah). Since we're not going anywhere yet, so it's worth waiting... I hope.. hehee..
Jason bought a pair of running shoes.. (Else, he's complaining that he has no shoes to exercise.. but anyway, his shoes already had a crocodile mouth.. haha) Everywhere in Parkway was on sales.. Levi's jeans had sales up to 50%, Giordano was having sales up to 40%, right now, there's G2k warehouse sales, MNG was having sales up to 50% and lots more. In fact, lots of places now are having sales. Especially warehouse sales. It's crazy.

But then again, I might just pick another top/pants or two, and that's it for me. Hehehe. Not really in a mood to shop right now. Kekeke.

Yeah, I was hunting for the so-called German "Christmas cake" we had last time at my ex-company, where a German colleague brought it while on business trip to Melaka. It's actually fruit cake, but it has rum and covered with white sugar toppings. It was superb! (Right, Miki?) We were also hunting for cherry-liqour-chocs.... and guess where I found them? Marks & Spencers. Yeah.. I saw it! the chocs were good. Strong taste of brandy. Hehehe.

Ahhh... this week's gonna be a great week.. with a holiday in between (Thursday), and am looking forward to go to ECP to rollerblade with the gang...It's been such a long time since I roller-bladed after the horrifying incident... (Actually, most prob just with Ken & PX - if she's ok by then, not sure if Punchie will be joining us). And then, it'll be the Christmas event in church the whole weekend, and my dept's BBQ at my big boss' house, and my family will be here on Sunday!

Looking forward to an exciting Christmas.... Are you?
