Steamboat & Crabs

24th Jan 08

We went out for dinner with LY, and we met up at Bugis. I'm not sure what road this is at, but I know, after you pass by the cinema, cross the road, there's one whole road full of restaurants. We mostly saw steamboat restaurants, and after walking through the whole road, we ended up in the first steamboat restaurant. The guys were so tempted by the redness of the beef & pork slices. Hehehe. And the name of the restaurant goes something like this: Chuan Yi Pin Chinese Restaurant.
Updates: Total damage for 3 pax: $60 (it's buffet, by the way)

We went back to Segamat over the weekend. Came back by train (reached home almost half past midnight!), because we are going back next week by train. So buying tix from Msia - Spore - Msia is cheaper, as you get to pay in RM :).

MIL bought crabs. They were so fresh that the night before, they were walking all over her bathroom and she had to tie them. Ha. And so, the pro chef, Jason's maternal grandma came over to cook the chili crabs.

1. Fry the crabs a lil with salt to taste. Then take it out and put it aside.

2. To make the sauce, put in garlic, chili paste, curry powder & onions. Stir-fry till the smell comes out. Hehe.

3. Put in salt & sugar to taste.

4. Put in the crabs.

5. Fry, fry, fry, put in one beaten egg in it & curry leaves.

6. Ready to serve.

The portion shown is for 3kg crabs. Yummy!

2 kay-pohs:
