Last Thursday, my manager decided to give us a treat. All 7 of us. We wondered why. We thought there was a special occasion, but nope, when my colleague asked her, she said we don't need to have something to go out for lunch.
She sent us through IM (Instant Messenger) asking us which venue we would prefer.

1. Waraku (Japanese Restaurant in East Coast park)
2. Some Chinese restaurant, I can't remember the name exactly and the place. But it's supposed to be famous for it's pork leg or something. (Eww).

So of course, we chose the former. :)
And so we made our way to the ECP, sat down and ate...
I ordered this udon mee.. supposed to be the most spicy among all... but it tasted spicy and sweet.. hahaha.. and the bowl was huge! It's like those dulangs (big bowls) we used or a small kuali (wok) mum uses to cook dishes in small quantity. (see pic)

I practically could dump my whole face in it. Hahaha... Seriously, I think Ajisen Ramen tastes much better. :) (Try their Volcano Ramen)

That same evening, we met up with J's friend, LY at Marine Parade Road.
Once we got there, he wanted to bring us to the same Waraku Restaurant... But I told him I already ate there for lunch. So we scouted around for a place to eat.. and we chance upon this restaurant which sells Korean & Jap food.

This time, I chose the Korean Kimchi Soup. Super spicy, but for the first time, I whacked the Kimchi until it finished. (The other time, I promised myself never to eat kimchi for another year because got so sick of it when we came back from Korea) And, I forgot to take pictures while we were there.

After that, we took about a 15-minute walk to Parkway Parade, somewhere across the road, and while doing so, we were enjoying the sticky sea-breeze.. taking pics of the surrounding. Little did we know, there was gonna be a water spout the next day.Scary.

Oh ya.. we were here too, a few weeks back. We went night cycling with F & hubby, and MTing. Perhaps we should try blading the next time, ya!

East Coast park, the jogging path. Cycling & rollerblading path is the one nearer to the beach.

The east coast line. By the way, it was near here that the water spout phenomenon happened.

The row of restaurants and eateries along the east coast park. Good food can be found here.

2 kay-pohs:

  1. hey rach, there's a waraku in KL too! wonder if it's the same chain.

  2. Is it? Which part of KL?
perhaps we can go there someday.. if i ever get to go to kl again... sigh.. now lesser chance since i'm here... so when are u coming down? the great sgpore sales is on ya know? hehehe :)
