Original Sin & Everest Kitchen

This post is kinda back-dated. Last Saturday, I had a lunch date with Shirley and a few others. But the others couldn't make it, so it was just the two of us. We went to the highly recommended a very good Mediterranean vegetarian restaurant, Original Sin.

This was basically my first time in HV even though I've been here for more than a year. Reason being is because Jason & I thinks it's too far and no direct bus from our place, yada, yada, yada...
And so, appointment time was 12.30pm. And I made my way to the MRT station, took a train to Commonwealth MRT station, and waited for Shirley at the taxi stand. We took a cab to Jln Mera Saga, and it was really a nice "english-y" place. She said that most "ang-mo"s stays here. Expats lah. What else. I literally fell in love with this place. Quiet, nice, and you don't feel you're in an Asian country. :) And so.. here was what we ate... we shared most of it as the portion is rather large... :) What amazes me most is that I didn't feel it was vegetarian.. I'm not talking about the normal vege food we have, with the fake fish, fake meat, and fake whatever. It's purely vegetables.. Even the cakes are vegetarian...so cool! And I don't feel so sinful after all... hahaha..And plus, Citibank credit members have a 1-for-1 main course deal! coolness! Total damage for 2pax: $76++

Inside the restaurant

Our starter: Magic Mushroom Baked Portobello mushroom stuffed with ricotta cheese, spinach, pesto and pine nuts, topped with a tomato basil sauce and mozzarella - YUMMY!

Main course: Moussaka
Oven baked layers of char-grilled eggplant potato, tomato and lentils, infused with Middle Eastern spices, topped with a béchamel sauce

Main course: Sicilian Pizza Bononcini, mozzarella, parmesan, semi dried tomato, Kalamata olives, caramelized onion and topped with arugula leaves - THIS WAS GOOD!

Dessert of the day: Choc Fudge Cake - Yummy! but portion too small. :(

Another dessert : Walnut Cheesecake A traditional oven baked cheesecake studded with walnuts flavoured with maple syrup

Later that night, after service, we went for authentic Nepalese food, Everest Kitchen.

If I'm not mistaken, there were 10 of us. :) And it was good! & Yummy!
Total damage for my portion was about $10? Can't remember...

Fish Tikka
Boneless chunks of fish seasoned with spices and baked in the tandoor.

Garlic Naan - Yummy!

Sag Ra Khasi Ko Mas
Mutton marinated in Nepalese herbs and spices, cooked with spinach

Ukhura Makhani
Chicken marinated with Nepalese herbs, tender cooked and serverd with creamy butter gravy.

Briyani rice

After all the good food.. the next day, we went for normal food.. and then.. the next day, ate some more good food.. till I had a bad sorethroat, then came the fever, then flu, then cough.. up till now.. Hahaha.. so much for good food. :) I'm hungry now.. ahhaha... till then.. chaoz... :)
