We went back on Saturday morning to check the price deals for Jason's brother... and guess what, just as Jason had anticipated, the price was still the same, but they had a free upgrade on the processor! (any time better than getting a 4G thumbdrive). We went back to the cashier to inquire if we could get the free upgrade... She took our receipt, then she said.. oh ok... I will give you a free upgrade to the processor as well as refund you back the $89 (upgrade worth). Then I was looking at Jason, she just need to give us the free upgrade right? No need to refund what.. Then we tried explaining to her again... But I guess because the background noise was too noisy.. we just gave up... so in the end.. I got a free 4G thumbdrive (previous day's freebies) and a free upgrade to T7250 (2.0GHz) from previously T5550 (1.8GHz) processor, plus a refund of $89. Good deal or what? Anyway, Jason's bro got the same model, but different color.. the brown color..
I finally got myself a Dell Inspiron (TM) 1420 laptop. We reached the PC Show at about 8++pm, thinking it's gonna close (@ 9pm) but it didn't. And we went straight to Dell to check out. I loved the 13.3" one, but the $$ is slightly above what we wanted. Though, their specs are really good, but I just wanted a simple one for myself. No need dedicated graphics card and what not as I won't be playing games on it and so on. Was looking for a small and light one.. but sadly, I figured out, the smaller it is, the more ex it becomes. Haha...
Lenovo Y410 was a good catch too.. but they don't have different colors... (Already have the silver boring one)... So it was either Vaio (which was having back-to-school offer.. Jason's a student now, can use his card.. hehehehe) or a Dell, which was highly recommended by a friend of ours, as they have great after-sales service. After looking around at NEC, Compaq... Jason decided to get the Dell one...
Online price for PC show was $1299. But today, being the 2nd day, they sold for $1199 + free upgrade to 3GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, 4G thumbdrive, blue-tooth mouse. I paid another $199 for extended 3-year warranty + some graphic card thingy.. worth the buy right? And yes, I chose spring green and yes, it comes with a 2MP web-cam (like I'm going to use it-lah) ! They also guaranteed if any price slash within the next 2 days of the PC show, they will refund us back in cash. Cool yeah?
So, I shall wait for the delivery within 2 weeks... ahhhh.... my search is over.. but will be going back there again tomorrow to scout around for another one for Jason's brother...
And yes, out of the so many people who were there.. we bumped into LMF & HM!!! What a coincidence.. They saw us at the Samsung booth, and called us.. we went to yum cha after that.. hahahaha.. what abit coincidence...
