Wedding (VIII) : Dinner - 11th Nov 2006

*continuation from Wedding (VII)*

7.20pm: It was time to go down, even though I was not called to go down. Eric, the bestman said he'd call, but I was a bit worried as I didn't want to start the dinner too late. Some of the guests who were here for my ceremony should be feeling hungry by now and I felt it was rude to start the dinner too late. So I went down, and at about 7.35pm, we had the walk-in, together with my whole bridal party.

[And of course, I had my brother and his band, PG165 played some songs through out the whole night. Live music, live band. My ears were truly painful after that when I heard so much of praises for my bro and his co-vocalist, Samuel's talent in singing. They did great. All of them. Am so proud of them. Especially the pianist, Deric. *wink*. This was their first time ever playing for a wedding, and they told me they're super nervous. It's not like the time when they can simply jam, as they knew, there will be a big crowd, and a crowd of all ages. Kekeke... I hope it was a great experience for them.]

And so, for my grand march in, I had my brother sang for me live, "
This I Promise You" - Ronan Keating. It was great. His voice (Thanks, boy, it was superbly great!), everything... the atmosphere. Was kind of nervous as I walked in.. But after seeing Jason's smiley face.. and my hand held firmed in his, it calmed my nerves so much.. And with the lights on us, couldn't see people properly. Hehehe.. After the walk-in, then it was the hotel's turn to have their food presentation. We gave them the Disney song, "Be My Guest" - Beauty & the Beast, a week ago, and surprisingly, they managed to present it well on that day. Was rather impressed.

Also, when we reached the main table, another surprise was, they gave us the special table arrangement. And thus, food was served individually to all on the VIP table. It was nice, it had lights in the middle of the table, flower arrangements were great.

The first march-in

Table arrangement I wanted. When it's dark, the middle part of the table lights up. Chun!

Just before the 3rd dish, my brother had another surprise for us. He wrote a song for the both of us, and sang it for us. It was touching. You can check out the lyrics here. After that, it was time for me to change to my dinner gown.

Second march-in

For the second march-in, I had my gues vocalist, Samuel (I "demanded" for him. hehehe. Thanks, Sam. You were absolutely great!) to sing for us, (a duet with my bro) the song, by the famous Christian singer, Steven. C.Chapman, "I will be here".And they were cool. So were the rest of the band members. They played well. After the walk in, we went straight up to the stage first, for the cake-cutting ceremony , followed by the toasting session. The best man coordinated the toast for us. 1st toast, was to us; 2nd was to our parents; 3rd to the guests who came. And after that, naughty he, he had a trick up his sleeves and we had to do what he says. Kiss until every stops toasting. (You better watch out on your wedding night, Eric).

The band - part of PG165 (minus the drummer) :)

The stars of the night - Sam & Justin :P

After that, it was time for us to go from one table to another to thank our guests for coming. No, of course we didn't go to every of the 66 tables, else, we wouldn't have time to finish it. Before long, we had to rush out to stand at the entrance to greet the guests and thank them for coming. (As a sign of respect, we had to do this). Most of our colleagues have already been long gone before this.. (From what I heard, clubbing. Hehehe.. something quite usual I guess after wedding dinners :)). Those who stayed back were our MMU friends, and of course, my school buddies. We took lots of pics here and there.. and also, I took one with the band.. and also my great photographer, Andy & Junnie. :)

By then, I was superbly dead tired. After bathing, I literally went to bed and slept. However, Jason still had the energy to go for supper with Eric. At the late night char-siu fan (roasted pork rice) shop. Next day, we went visiting relatives, and also started to pack for our honeymoon the next day. :) Wil blog about that soon too. All backdated stuffs. hehehehe.
