People Say...

"Out of sight, out of mind"...
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"...
"Make new friends, forget the old"...

For me, I'm not talking about a love relationship... More on friendship level... I have experienced all. I thank God for friends, who from afar, make it a point to meet up/ call/ sms/ chat (you guys know who you are :)). You guys are a gem! And it's really such a pleasure and something that I really look forward to. But it's rather sad, that at times you feel that you've been set aside, when you don't particularly exist around friends...Will be easily forgotten... I do admit that at times, I tend to forget those who are not with me, but am trying to make an effort to keep the gap close :) Please do bear with me...

But I thank God, in that "void", He has blessed me with new friends, whom I think, am able to see me through thick & thin... It takes time...

So, what are your views on the three lines above?

3 kay-pohs:

  1. When it comes to friends, I think the first and last statements hit home.
Like you, I'm thankful when at times old friends called or smsed but I regretted not returning the favor because sometimes I'm so caught up with my life that I just don't remember at all. Yeah, I know I'm selfish but I'll work on that.
I also regretted not taking the effort to get friends' contacts especially high school friends (like you!)back then and now it's hard to mend the gap. I'm not proud to say that I have ONLY ONE friend from high school whom I keep in touch with regularly. How sad eh.
But I always believe that 'Old is gold, make new friends but keep the old'

  2. nicely spoken.. yeah.. old is gold, make new friends, but keep the old.. :) Hehehe.. am glad that we found each other through.. what ah? friendster? can't remember..

  3. Yeah got Friendster to thank for. Haha
